canadian law HELP…

Question:

Thank you , that is exactly the advice I offered. I suggested certified mail. This person is terrified of repurcussions.

Response:

I’m not sure what you’re looking for exactly. Here in Ontario, we have an excellent service as a first point of contact – Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Services (VCARS). I expect that other provinces would have similar services and that VCARS could direct a caller to their service A link to VCARS, info, and other resources can be found here. http://www.attorneygeneral.jus.gov.on.ca/html/family/violence.htm The feds also have lots of info on family law and services. http://canada.justice.gc.ca/en/ps/index.html Hope this helps.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – …..is there anyone familiar with Canadian law that can help a woman in a crisis protect her children. Please step up with ANY information that might help. Out of my territory and this person really in a crisis. Roger, if you’re out there, this woman could really use the advice of a cool head.

Response:

thank you so much!

Response:

what would you recommend a person do if a social worker is "interested" in one of the parties and is acting very unprofessional. This person has a direct impact on the situation and is helping intimidate the other  party. Is there a rational remedy to her dilemna.

Escalate a complaint to the social worker’s supervisor with the goal to get that person removed from the case. Do this in writing so there is a record of the alleged misconduct. These days the agencies cannot afford to sweep such stuff under the rug … even in Canada where they too have a free press. Floridanewbie

Unfortunately the person most likely to be able to help this person is not long posting to the newsgroup. And yes I mean Andre.

I’m afraid you are right.  But someone said he was on vacation.  Do you know if that is true? Cal~ – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Joseph — ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM       What a long strange trip it’s been!             I’m a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess,

I’ve been talking to him all week and he was over to drop off a couple of books I’d had him pickup for me, on sale, yesterday. I know he’s going to a couple of conventions this month, mainly because I’m going to one with him at the end of the month, but if he’s gone he left today. Response:

I am totally clueless about Canadian law, and I have no idea what it is that requires their protection, but I will say this: As a general rule of thumb, call in this order… 1. your local child welfare agency (or child abuse hotline). 2. your local law enforcement agency. 3. a lawyer. ==Rog’==
