English Actor…
Question:
: …. Requires any information anybody has on the best way to start in the : acting proffession. I am just about to start my second year at college : taking A levels in Performing arts Theatre Studies and Psychology. Good A levels. Boring pedestrian advice: Read the entire acting/performing arts/theatre section in your local library Offer whatever time and skills you have to the best local theatre you can find. Even gofer work, even for an amateur company, will add to your current blank slate. : I managed to get to : the final round auditions for the National Youth Theatre this year and have : been told that it would be a waste of talent if I did not go in to the : acting proffession. Ah, but by whom? If by the NYT, or any other professional level judge, follow up your contact. Non-professionals confuse what you have (looks, vocal timbre) with what you can do. : I love acting and everything involved in it A necessary start, but you may hate everything you haven’t yet seen or read about. Being a professional, with all that frustration, uncertainty and boredom, is a long way from being an actor, with its joy and fulfillment and creativity. The first can involve the second, which is what keeps us poor schmucks at it. Much joy in the future. Carry on with your research to be sure there’s water in the pool before you dive in. — * Peter Messaline is The TaxXman, an actor’s tax preparer (416)960-1785 * * Not all the bulbs in the marquee are working, but he lives your life. *

…. Requires any information anybody has on the best way to start in the acting proffession. I am just about to start my second year at college taking A levels in Performing arts Theatre Studies and Psychology. I am involved in two local amature dramatic societies but now frrl the time is right to start moving into a more "proffessional" area. I managed to get to the final round auditions for the National Youth Theatre this year and have been told that it would be a waste of talent if I did not go in to the acting proffession. I love acting and everything involved in it – If anybody has any suggestions about Agents, drama schools, universities or anything else to do with acting please e-mail at: Many Thanks for your time and help.
