I’m going to be tougher than your previous correspondents: at 15 with no training and no usable experience, you will not find a legitimate agent. An agent will make money from you if you work, so you’ll have to live in a city with lots of work. The people who hire you will want to know you can do the job *before* they agree to audition you to see if you’d be right. How can you prove that? There isn’t much call for 15-year-olds. Look at Buffy — those actors are all in their twenties. Why? Union regulations and laws concerning employment of minors. Keep the dream alive, and build a foundation for it. Read all you can about the professional business: all the weird methods of working, all the advice from working actors, even the celeb books. Read plays, good bad and indifferent. Gobble it all down and the shit will clear and you’ll begin to have some ideas of your own. Read about the technical side of theatre, film and television: the technician can be your greatest ally, if you let him. Or her. Read about drama courses in conservatories and colleges. Look at their web site if they have one. Get a feeling for what they do. Volunteer in local professional theatre, cable TV, anything remotely to do with your planned career. Get the widest possible education about EVERYTHING. The more we are when we start a character, the more we have to give to the character. Preston, Anyone who responds to your posting is unlikely to be a legitimate agent or manager but more likely to try to scam you. It’s not how to get representation. Mail, phone and proximity are key.. Try and find out if there are any legitmate talent representatives  (ask your theatre friends) in your area and call them and see if they have interviews, or mail them a picture and short note. Also are there any professional theatres in your state, my hunch is there are. See if you can become involved with them, in the summer maybe? If you’re interested in meeting an agent in LA or NY, send them your picture and make it clear that you’re willing and able to visit, travel, or move (if you and you’re family actually are).
