Response:
(See Il professore’s post below.) To any lurkers, by all means, ask Il professore, and he delivers. A half-dozen of my actors at TAS have sent queries to Norman, and they reported back to me that he is thoughtful, informative, stimulating, professional…. everything you would want in a coach. After this positive feedback, I started to debate with Norman, and ultimately read "Acting…. A String of Beads." I endorse it, wholeheartedly. And in the spirit of full disclosure, I will admit I count him as a colleague and friend…. but that occurred only after many posts, sometimes contentious. Il Professore’s finest qualities???? He is an experienced actor/director/coach with an incredible background in both scholarship and exposure to some of the great resources of actor training. Lately, a few actor/director/coaches have been corresponding privately with him. The current theme is Sanford Meisner. Norman can address with great insight many "masters," and yet continues to evolve his own insights and process. Il Professore’s weakest quality? He is much more polite and civilized that a few of us on this group. And I like that. Break a leg, Bill Norman B.
