Deer/Boar Anasthetic
Question:
Does anyone know of an anasthetic that can keep a deer or a boar unconscious for a few minutes enough for moving it around a short distance. Thanks & regards, Johan

Rompin (spelling?) is the drug of choice among wildlife managers. In California it requires a license from the DF&G. They used to offer periodic training courses at Hopland, I don’t know anymore. This drug is very fast acting, relatively safe, and requires an antedote which allows you to time the release. It does not render the animal unconscious, which can be very dangerous to the animal it just immobilizes them. Scott
