I know the original poster (how’s that for PC) was referring to Los Angeles. Johnny Bob Jimmy Joe Ray however is a generic American. It’s an inside joke from a past thread

In this case, I think "LA" refers to that town in California, and not the state of Louisiana, where a redneck *would* have four names before you get to the surname… Carl ‘Wesistance is futiwe! Drama Queen Well, coming from honesty…when I first came to this newsgroup, I was under the impression that this was a LA-based forum. Mind you it was an impression. As time went on I was shocked to find out that there were actors here not only from other states, but also from other parts of the world. Even some from different planets!:-) I couldn’t figure out what were actors doing in other states and countries when LA is the Place. I finally realized that actors were actually acting in different places other than LA. I’m still a little confused about that to this day. Now, I’m just being honest. Call me ignorant if you will, …call me an idiot if you want but that is the truth. But the orginal poster is not being "Arrogant imbecile!" He is simply stating what he believes to be true, …just as what I believed was true.

…and not too hung-over… Since this is predominantly an LA-based forum, I wanted to let you know that I will be performing (with my guitar) at Genghis Cohen on Sunday. (I know, I know — not yet another spam to piss on.) The show is at nine o’clock.  And we will serve punch and then punch you  when you drink it while seven ladies in Greek bikinis lick ice cream off your chests…  (Not really but hell, if you come, I could round up an ensemble to er…  show you the…  ropes.)
