Getting a coach and School

: Hi! : I am a 15 year old girl from Toronto, Canada. I am very motivated and would : like to get into acting. I was thinking of getting an acting coach (a : personal one) My question: First, do you think this is a wise way to get : started? second, can anyone tell me HOW to get one? You’re ambitious, certainly, but you need a good class rather than a personal coach. Try Sears & Switzer, YPT. : Also, I am also looking into Acting High Schools for grade 11. Can anyone : recomend any good ones (with contacts) anywhere in North America? Thanks in : advance! You should look closer to home. Toronto has three or four good High Schools for the Arts. Look into those. Call Theatre Ontario, who can give you basic information, and recommend books you can read aimed at Canadian actors. I would at least start acting first.  As far as I can tell, no coach is going to take you on if you’ve never acted a second in your life.  Get into community theater, and any thetaer at your high-school. second, can anyone tell me HOW to get one?

Once you get a fair number of credits under your belt, you might want to send your reume and headshot to one.  You can either look them up in the phonebook, or get names of personal managers from talent agencies in your area. Also, I am also looking into Acting High Schools for grade 11. Can anyone recomend any good ones (with contacts) anywhere in North America?
