Getting organized
Question:
– Does anyone know of a syut there that helps an actor with the business -side (paperwork, scheduling, etc.) of the profession? I’d like help staying -organized and would like to know if there’s anything that’s been developed -that I can use. In NYC it’s the SAG Conservatory. All kinds of get togethers including "The Business of Acting" which deals with the BUSINESS side of the business. It meets EVERY second Friday. If you are not a NYC SAG member, doesn’t your local have similar??? I called the Drama Book Shop that you had mentioned and checked on the books from Crespo and Becker. Both books would have to be back ordered since they were out of them. Just in case anyone might be interested, "Taking Care of Business…" by Crespo is $19.95 and "The Organized Actor" by Decker is $15. I’m going to check around here in Dallas and see if I can purchase one.
Brookes, Did you try calling the author/publishers directly? Crespo: (212) 533-3707; the books. Jill Jill Charles, Artistic Director American Theatre Works, Inc., P.O. Brooks, I have recently taken to reading books on selling by top trainers of sales people. As actors, even though we detest it, are responsible for selling our talent/product. These books have many organisational tips. Jeremy http://www.Jeremy-Whelan-Acting.com Home page of New School Acting
