MOSHING (was Emperor was GAY)

Question:

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -If you can mosh to a black metal band then you really need to ask yourself "Is this really a black metal band or some hiphop KoRn band?" No defense of the fucking morons who watched Emperor, first of all, they should have gased all the fucking jews who were in that ballroom stage, and second of all I feel blackmetal is un-mosh-able, maybe it’s me……          Leif "Thyrm" Andersson In defense for Emperor, you cannot hold it against them if their crowd moshes. Obviously the band has no control over what the crowd is going to do. In Europe the concert ethic comes from Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, while in the USA it comes from DRI and the NOT man.

ummm.. yeah… Immortal is a ‘hip hop Korn band "… * shakes head in pity *

Agreed. Of course, this clown has nothing better to do than blame people because he washes dishes at the local greasy spoon. Get a life, and a job, Leif. Paul

Response:

Headbanging is more suitable when an old-school heavy metal band is up on the stage. Moshing is much more violent, thus it suits extreme metal better. IMHO, of course. Moshing was created by short-haired poofs who didn’t have the hair to headbang effectively. A pit full of long haired guys thrashing their heads in unison in a uniquely metal thing, whereas moshing was also common at punk and hardcore gigs, and these days seems to be commonplace at any concert heavier than the spice girls. Metalheads should stop acting like hardcore "tough guys" and get back to good ole headbanging. Mark

I agree!!!!! It gets so fucking annoying when you’re at a show trying to enjoy the music and all these drunk fat assed idiots who don’t even even pay atention to the music just ram into each other like a bunch of homosexuals. KEEP METAL PURE. WEED OUT THE RAP GRUNGE INFLUENCE

Response:

In the States headbanging=moshing these days. I like both, so who cares. Just because you seem to think that they are one in the same doesn’t mean the rest of us do.  was I trying to speak for everyone? I simply expressed my opinion. When you say "In the states…" you imply that your opinion is shared by all of us from the USA

I was referring to the general rule of thumb kind of opinion. Every rule has its exceptions. —                       * Alex Shterenberg *         !!! REMOVE THE "X" FROM MY ADDRESS WHEN REPLYING !!!                 "Death Is Certain, Life Is Not"

Now I am confused.

Response:

I used to mosh back in the 80’s, when i was much younger. I really regret it now for the fact that i missed "watching" the band play while throwing myself into other people.  Modern day moshers will mosh to anything now, it has no reason..In the past few years I have seen Mercyful Fate, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest and a handful of other non-thrash bands and people were moshing and crowd surfing…what is the point of paying to see a band just so you can slam and mosh around? I never figured that one out. IMHO Sean Weingartner Is Nothing Sacred? http://www.geocities.com/hollywood/boulevard/9151 "Preacher man spins backward secret messages, What are you looking for? Response:

uhmmm….is it just me? I’m kinda sick of hearing about Emperor. theyre not even worth discussing. stop talking about this band

You see, that is the whole point of "threads" on newsgroups. The concept is, you read the ones you are interested in and disregard the rest. If you don’t like an open forum create your own in which you can be supreme dictator.

But Samoth said on a few occasions: "We’re not in a favor of this "I’m too evil to headbang" attitude". In the States headbanging=moshing these days.
