New TV show

Question:

Well, I got home from work, and had nothing better to do while balancing my checkbook, so I watched it.  Didn’t see a single tattoo, but I think the latex fetishists might enjoy the show… Excuse me, I have to go watch the MacNeil-Lehrer News Hour to get the taste of that show out of my mouth.  :-p — Emily

Response:

Before I left for work this morning, I saw a promo on TV for a new show on the USA network – Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills.  It might be a regular show or a one time deal, but [sarcasm mode on] I just can’t wait to see it :) Dane

Bleaugh! It is the cheesiest schmaltzy, kitsch, campy ripoff of a show I have *ever ever* seen. It is a direct ripoff of the Power Rangers WITHOUT the Japanese footage that Saban lifted from the original Sentai shows. The "tattoos" are invisible, and pulse on the kids’ left inner forearms when their Great Leader (actually an oversized brain that looks like a melting blob of pink jello) calls them for some dire emergency (like the giant cactus is spreading needles against back-projected buildings). It’s shot on video in a sound stage with no exterior footage. These "Galactic Sentinels" (as they call themselves) are *so* bad…Acting? Who’s acting? At least the Power Rangers is *GOOD* campy–MST3k material. This other show is just plain BAD. — UH School of Library & Info Studies.
