because of the columbine shootings, they thought it would be better not to have the word ‘killing’ in the title -laura :)

Columbine factored in…. but the director, in an interview, acknowledeged that as the director of two horror films (Scream, I believe, and something else) that he did not want audiences to think this was another slasher project. Break a leg, Bill — THE ACTING STUDIO http://gvtg.com/theactingstudio

Yeah, it was Kevin Williamson who did "Scream" and "I Know What You Did.  ." He seems to be a slasher king, and a new Brat Pack maker. -M.
