Wireless?
Question:
I have a sampson something and I’ve only used when I played outdoors. With my Les Paul studio lite and my current old Kramer it was too noisey and I lost tons of tone I thought.. I could never dial in the sound I wanted with the damn thing.. Drove me nuts.. but, that said, I did like the freedom.. It’s great to be able to walk around a pool party jamming your heart out, or like out in the country running down the road acting as if your the lead guitarist for AC/DC..hehe Tim

forgive my butting in but why go wireless unless you really NEED to? You play on stages big enough to warrant this? do you move around so much that wireless is your only choice? It’s a neat thing to have for the bragging rites and as a penis extension, people seem to like it. I’ve seen guys play wireless systems who stand 1-2 feet from their amps. I have a Nady 401 wireless system and it collects dust, literally… i’ve used it twice since i first got it about 12 years ago. Just one more stupid thing to hook up, lose, have batteries die, break, putz out etc… I don’t know why i kept it around, maybe someday i’ll find a reason to use it, start my own pirate radio station or make bogus announcements at crowded malls or something. I’m sure the 401 is ancient history by now but yes, annoying hum, signal loss and there was this strange loss of brightness that just turned me off. Save your money and buy a really nice cord and maybe a fancy schmancy pickup. For the record, I’m a guitar-cord-amp type of guy. Not really into the extra schtuff.

Using wireless makes sense even on small stages. Look down at all the tripwires around your feet and you know what I mean. I wouldn
