oh geez….should I grovel then?  :) You know I talked to someone on the phone there and they were quite arrogant.

<LOL Mary, alot of people who answer the phones in LA are arrogant. You should try calling a few places in BH. Now *that’s* arrogance! I guess they don’t really care if one is a member or not. Unless of course,  you are a big name.<gg Although their audience in the awards is quite large. I guess I’m kind of naive, but I was not aware that the public was not allowed to attend the awards unless they were invited as a date by a member.

Or unless they are one of the beautiful people and registered with Central Casting. <LOL I know a girl who tried to crash the Oscars. She managed to hide herself in a giant garbage bag, and camped out in the washroom overnight. Just as she was about to slip out & join the crowd (after having spent the night in a garbage bag in the toilet) she was foiled at the last min. by an alert security guard. Boy was she PISSED!! She knew exactly what she was doing. I hope it will be worth it to her in the long run. Once someone is known as an opportunist, they rarely have many "true" friends. I dated a gal briefly that was a member. If she was any indicator of the intellectual and emotional stability of the Academy, well let’s just say it makes it easier to understand some of the lame choices they make. regards, dave

Did any of you?  Kinda like the virtually unknown comedienne that married the president’s mistress . We all know she doesn’t mind being used though <vbg oops sorry couldn’t help that slip up :) How did i get on that rant…oh well <vbg  It just bugs me when some woman with the intelligence level of Darla Conger can pretend to be so stupid about a stunt like Marrying a Millionare.  I’m sorry,  but I have worked too hard on my craft to use this kind of tactic to advance my career. Mary, I used to be a member years ago. As to whether or not membership is worth it, depends on why you want membership in the first place.
