Go see Sixth Sense!
Question:
Maybe I’m jaded because I’ve been watching horror movies for over 30 years, but Blair Witch was not scary at all. I do have a very good imagination BTW and my wife writes science fiction so I know she has one, but neither of us were even made uneasy. That is not to say that it couldn’t have been made a much better movie with just a minor change. If you’ve seen the SciFi channel special on it (Curse of the Blair Witch) they add to the film much of what should have been in the screen version. But just by adding a short 30 second intro from a "family member" of one of the characters would have forced the viewer out of reality and allowed them to get into the movie more. Something like, "The film you are about to see is a record of the last 3 days of my sister and her 2 friends lives. The movie is just as we found it, the raw, unedited footage." Now wouldn’t that have helped people fill in the blanks? Or maybe I just saw too many interviews with the actors and film makers saying how the film was made etc. So I knew what was comming. John W. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – You have to have an imagination to see the Blair Witch movie. If you do (have an imagination), it will be the scariest film you will ever see. If you don’t , then it will suck. It’s a love or hate film. I thought it was awesome. You really have to place yourself in the setting. And I have no idea what people are talking about when they say the jittering motion, etc. will make you sick. There is probably 5 minutes worth of running with camera in the whole movie. I have no idea what kind of acting background the characters had (if any). But the girl needs to win an award. She had the coldest screams I have ever heard. I have never been scared of any movie or any thing until seeing this flick. I’ll probably never go camping either. Agreed on both movies. Blair Witch Project was bad and the camera jittering was so horrible that both SWMBO and I were dizzy when we left. Not even the smell of fresh cut cedar or the aromatic sweetness of maple could ease my pain, I had to take a nap. Sixth Sense was a good flick but not the horror movie it was hyped as. If you haven’t seen it just keep that in mind great date movie though. For you carvers out there, The Haunting is a must see. The sets are fantastic, the wood work fabulous, definitely two bevels up. John W. On woodworking in film. And also . . . stay away from The Blair Witch Project! It was over-hyped and had about a 9.5 SUCK FACTOR! Terrific movie. And don’t give the ending away after you do. Yeah….Right! Hah, I bet! : ) Al – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I just don’t get it . . . . Everyone keeps saying this ‘I always see it, and I didn’t see this one". Well, I was pissed becasue I saw it from the first second and thought NO WAY is that going to happen, and it ends up that that what the great surprize end is. Phthhhhppptttt. jg

Naaaahhh! go see the Thomas Crown Affair. MUCH better movie. Renee Ruso is fabulous. The dress she wears will generate some wood. OBWW: Pierce and Renee do the horizontal mombo on a set of stairs. The stairs were made out of cold hard marble. Renee would have had a better time if the stairs were made out of wood.
ROTFL! That reminds me of a Southern joke I heard years ago. While taking a shortcut, the traveling salesman’s car broke down at 11pm on a secluded, woodsy dirt road between cities. He rang the bell at the nearest southern mansion and a gent came to the door. He offered to put the salesman up for the night and showed him to an empty room. About 2am, the salesman woke up and was thirsty. He went down to the kitchen for some cold milk. The gent’s daughter, a 23 year old beauty, was there for the same thing. They got to talking and ended up in an embrace on the kitchen floor. Just about that time, the gent came down the stairs, saw them on the floor, and screamed at the girl "Daughter, where are your southern manners. Arch your back and get that poor man’s balls off the cold linoleum." I drive way too fast to worry about my cholesterol. http://www.diversify.com Refreshing Graphic Design

My wife and I did the same thing, and yes he did talk to his wife (at the resturant), but no one ever responded to him. This is why its so hard to take the ending. John W. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – : Terrific movie. So I have a question about it. At the end my wife and I look at each other and we go "couldn’t be". So then we try to come up with inconsitencies but couldn’t really find anything. So the question (potential spoiler so scroll down a bit): Does Bruce actually talk to anybody beside the kid ? bruno.

no, no one ever responds to him besides the kid. think about the scene in hospital where it appears he is sitting next to the mother. Remember, the doctor (a cameo by the writer-director) is talking about possible child abuse and pointing to the social worker. Now, if he is the kid’s psychologist and he is there, then he would definitely say something or someone would say something to him, no? But they don’t .. also, during the whole time the kid and willis are together, they never talk to the mother. … I dunno, I kinda feel its "Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" and "Jacob’s Ladder" redeux … Larry Levinson Talking up to the vocal … LLevinson*Bloomberg.net (remove the star etc ….)

Careful Bruno you’re close to giving a hint away… : ) That’s what I liked about it. I didn’t see it coming but if you think back, everything fit very nicely. I thought it was well thought out and well done. Usually I can see what’s coming a mile away. This one was a treat for me, I didn’t see it at all. That poor little fellow ought to win some kind of award. I thought Saving Private Ryan was one of the best movies I’ve seen, this one is pretty good too. Al : Terrific movie.
