I know this is off topic but
Question:
for years I have waited for the networks to throw up a show that I would actually watch.
"Throw up" is accurate. It’s obviously a flash in the pan, but hey it’s something.
The problem is that they are cycling through "flashes in the pan" instead of settling on good dramatic programming, the kind of stuff made of actors. Good dramatic programming on Network TV is on its way out, consistent with its demise over the decades. Fortunately for me, I have cable and have a lot of other choices. Like I can go over to TV Land and watch the best of the Museum of TV and Radio Archives. <sigh — Daniel Norton

Wow, I wouldn’t have said that at all, and I’m not sure where you have gleaned this info. With the blazing success and now resurgence in ‘new and improved’ form, there’s Law & Order, still strong after almost 10 years, Special Victims Unit is debatable, but nonetheless, an off-shoot from L&A which is a credit to that show, and there’s another planned for next fall. Then there’s ER, and even though I’ve not seen it, Third Watch I hear is wonderful. Providence is also getting critical acclaim. The Practice is superb. Yup, there’s some good stuff out there. I don’t think it’s on its way out; I think it’s now, cyclically speaking, time for it to come back around again. Yin/Yang. It’s one of Newton’s Laws that states that atoms or mass is never created. Just re-created over and over. (paraphrase) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – for years I have waited for the networks to throw up a show that I would actually watch. "Throw up" is accurate. Dana Carvey did a great bit about "Is that your final answer?" on the Tonight Show last week. His entire segment was hysterical, but especially his imitation of ol’ Reg. -M. "Wow! If your fly wasn’t unzipped, you’d look just like Roger Moore!" – Marge Simpson www.glacierstudios.com

It’s a pretty darn good flash also. My family and I can’t stop watching it.
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – for years I have waited for the networks to throw up a show that I would actually watch. And along comes this ‘you wanna be a millionaire’ thing. I know it has been out for a while but I just caught it last week. This is as good as than "we’ll expose how magicians do it" show of a few years ago. The key to this show is Regis looking at the player and saying "is that your final answer???" No Regis, that was my preliminary answer, why don’t I just It’s obviously a flash in the pan, but hey it’s something.
Response:
Tonites show was a let down because the contestants seemed not up to the task, but ok.
