TV/film acting gigs in NY?

Question:

It’s slightly different. They sell maps to the stars Crack dealers homes :) …. Oh, that’s low, but I’m speaking as a former New Yorker. The arts are goverened by supply and demand.  Lots of filming takes place in both of those locations, and there are successful actors making a living in both places. It’s really just a question of hustle/promotion, and having a good agent. I’m kind of new entering the business of acting, so please bear with me.  I’d like to know if acting for TV & film in NY is much or any different from acting in LA.  Everyone tells me LA is where it’s at for movies and TV, but I’ve also heard from quite a few others that you can make your mark the same way in NY.   Could someone could please offer some experiences or insights on this question?  Thanks. Do they sell ‘maps to the stars homes’ in new York? Then why are there actors who go NY to do film and tv?

Woody Allen hates LA. They don’t make good corned beef sandwiches out in LA. There are no good Chineese resturants or pizareas either in LA. New York is filled with New York actors wanting to move to LA. I don’t see LA actors wanting to move to New York.
