Questions TV/Movie Stuff
Question:
- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I haven’t seen this question posted so I will ask: What do you think of Reality TV? Do you think it will become part of "every-night" TV from now on? They runined Joe Millionare by putting a fake ending. People who work in Hollywood always fuck things up. Whoever idea it was to put a fake ending to Joe Millionare should be fired from his job, including all his relatives that work with him, including friends he hired also. That is the only way to clean up Hollywood. Fire anyone who messes up and fire all friends and family that he brought in. That way the next guy who has the job will think twice before he decides to hire any of his shmucky friends or family, …because if they fuck he gets fucked up. What is the point of Reality TV (besides the fact that it’s cheaper than paying an actor/actress?) It’s limited to a certain audience. It’s limited to a BIG audience. Are the networks pushing us to pay for every show we want to watch, i.e. HBO? Don’t you know how to steal cable? They got these boxes thet sell that converts to free cable. They call them cable descramblers. http://search.cometsystems.com/search.php?product=rsearch&qry=radio%2… Is it very difficult to make a movie? Or to do TV shows? It depends who you are related to. Look for photos of people who write TV scripts or movies. You’ll notice the family resemblance. There are a lot of different actors/actresses that play the role of perps or victims on each episode of NYPDBlue/Boomtown/L&O, etc. Where do the production companies find these people? It’s something like On The Waterfront the movie. If the production company has work for you, you need to pull your ear, pull your nose, little signals like that. It’s everyman for himself. How does a company know if that actor or actress is right for the part? Do they make them read for the part? Do they have to interview tons of people for each episode? If so, it sounds like an awful lot of work. You can tell I’m not in the acting/entertainment field [nor am I planning a career in it either

Wow!! Is all I can say to that. Some of that info I kinda figured was true, but now I know. And no, I didn’t know about the descrambler thing, ha! :) Neat! Then what are you planning, Sue? LOL!! Nothing, honest. But I always wonder about this stuff. When you’re not in show business or know anything about it but you listen to everyone in your group that also knows nothing about it yet they have lots of opinions
— it’s just interesting to hear what experts have to say. That’s it! You do like being in show business though, don’t you? It sounds terribly exciting albeit frustrating. But a whole lot better than being a secretary! Thanks Starmaker Sue

Reality TV is big profits if sucessful. The amount paid to actors is low, the amount returned is high. Untill you start getting huge flops, I bet there will be more and more.
