Question:
There was an interesting programme on the BBC last night. An ex-CIA man says Bush might be going to start WW3 if he attacks Iraq. Jessica Stern says much the same, as do lots of church men, and other people, including ex-military men. . SO, is George about to save us all [from no danger of attack from Iraq] or get us all killed? The latter will cure us all of T eh? smartarse.
Response:
Maybe some of these people need to seek employment with Ms Cleo. Nobody can predict the economy, a football game, or tell me why my ‘check engine’ light comes on for weeks at a time. I think George has done a good job of giving Iraq a clear message. Hopefully a messsage will be all that is necessary. By virtue of the fact that inspectors are in Iraq checking Presidential Palaces, Saddam thinks George is serious and that few of the world population support a killer of his own people. Everyone thinks these are scary times…. How must they have felt around the globe as WWII killed nearly 50 million people from all countries involved. Surely the end of the world was near. From there it has been up and down with a lot of good times. Maybe WW3 is what will happen. Maybe it is what it will take to get countries living in harmony again. Man is a funny animal. They just can’t seem to live and let live for very long. I wish everyone could put down there guns and just get naked on a big sheet of plastic with lots of peanut oil. He just might. And maybe then we see whose culture is the right one to lead the world and we find if we end up with 1000 years of brightness or allow the slow creep into 1000 years of darkness under people who wish to slit our throats and screw our wives and bring the children up as muslims. WB, I thought you had gone the way of so many other prolific posters who have passed through AST like a storm in the night. I enjoy reading your opinions. BTW, I see there is no reference to the Paul Revere Society in your signature. Good. While they promote some ideals that may be of some value, though not practical, I feel it is somewhat like the TRT peddlers we object too. They are preying on peoples fears, making mucho money, and delivering little or no measurable results. I see George is in charge of Iraq’s dossier too? Do we all really want George in charge?

So, does this mean it’s inevitable to have WW3 – we never learn *anything*? > Maybe WW3 is what will happen. Maybe it is what it will take to get > countries living in harmony again. Man is a funny animal. They just > can’t seem to live and let live for very long.
Men will never live in harmony as they love their lethal toys too much. > I wish everyone could put down there guns and just get naked on a big > sheet of plastic with lots of peanut oil.

WW2 Analogy Apologies for offence, but there are similarities. Uk Prime Minister accepts German invasion of Czechoslovakia 1 year later, Germany invades Poland, starting WWII UK PrimeMinister supports US war with Afghanistan 1 year later US invades Iraq, starting WWIII ………………… The Anti-Muslim sentiment from some in the USA is similar to the anti-Jewish sentiment in pre-WW2 Germany. Thank you, Jim. Coming from a vet of Nam who saw what can happen, it is truly appreciated. Some of the names here can consider signing on to the list that these Hollywood idiots are signing telling Mr. Bush not to attack Iraq, if it makes them feel better. Our military has a tremendous amount of quite confidence. We don’t need to sabre rattle. We are the world’s only super power despite that hag Madeline Half-Bright saying the world was dangerous like that; let’s give away technology. This war will look like an X-Box game. Thinking this guy doesn’t have to be terminated for the safety of the western world - and thinking that we can’t interfere with other nations when there is no doubt he is not willing to play by the rules of the civilized world – is beyond ignorance. It is decided upon stupidity. Anyone have any good stories about Hussein? Anyone seen him doing a baby kissing tour? Well, maybe those women, children, and infants he gassed were kissed by him as souvenirs. He’s sick enough to have kissed one of those. Anyone remember what he did to his two son in-laws that left and he convinced to come back as all was forgiven? Ask them. That is if you are better than Dr. Frankenstein and can reassemble body parts and get them talking. It is clear that this nation is powerful enough to devastate any other. Yet we do not chose to. That has not been the rule in history. That acting president – Martin Sheen – believes that the only reason Dubya is going after Iraq is to hand his head to his daddy. This actor – AN ACTOR…that’s it! – is spewing political policy with others after making decadent movies all of their lives. They know nothing. We, as a nation, should get the Nobel Prize for not blowing things up at will when we have the power to do so. But that should not lead to our culture being so ignorant of the fact that as Mao Tse Tung said – "Political Power comes from the end of a gun." Martin and Schwarzkopf – we ain’t no General Powell and kicking this off is a no-brainer. Maybe then the Middle East will start to enter the human race and leave the 8th century. BORDERS…LANGUAGE…CULTURE.

Well Martin, I guess your mind’s made up. Kill who you want to kill, chained or otherwise. But don’t nuke em. Future cultures will forgive killing. They’ll even respect you if you do it with class. But they won’t forgive radiation sickness. Tony

Well, Tony. You are not willing to make the tough choices in life to defend your way of life. What, you think those guys at Normandy wanted to get slaughtered on the beach? What, you think the Death March to Battan was a picnic? You can deal with the problem now or wait till it is worse later and the price to pay is even higher. Absolute bullshit. Muslims, by both their koran and though their silence and their wearing or their berkas still (sp?) show they are here not to assimilate, but to invade. How many churches have the muslims bought in GB and turned into a mosque where they will now hold 9-11 celebrations? You’ll get your own date in the future – unfortunately – because you are too weak to save yourselves. To the best means possible, every civilized nation should attempt to do so. WWII got past the point where that allowed survival. So Berlin and Dresdnen were bombed. OR, would you say that any country placing 100 civilians in chains around their firing battery should be off limits as their bombs kill our soldiers. >I see now GWBush is talking about Nuking any nation that is a threat to the US.
Not exactly. There is clear talk – AND ABOUT DAMN TIME – that we are making it clear to our enemies we will use a big stick. Till now, we have just spoken softly, and made our position clear. >Have we in the west developed a selective nuclear bomb that doesn’t kill civilians?
We have one that saves their civilians. It’s those who sit on the fence until they decide who the winner is. Martin and Clausewitz – no topic is off limits BORDERS….LANGUAGE…CULTURE
