who the hell is spinal tap?

Question:

For the record, folks, "This is Spinal Tap" was a Rob Reiner movie. The three regulars in the band were Christopher Guest, guitar, who was a regular on Saturday Night Live, Michael McKeon, guitar, who had played on a ’70s sitcom, Laverne and Shirley, and Harry Shearer, bass, who has his own NPR radio show and does several voices on The Simpsons, and also was an SNL regular. A very funny movie. You’ll also see some great vintage gear in one segment.

One of the greatest bands of all time! There is a great documentary out about them filmed by Rob Reiner called "This Is Spinal Tap". Rent it!

btw…the scene where the band wanders around backstage unable to find the stage was filmed backstage at the greek theater in L.A… I  worked a show there in 1990 and all i kept thinking was " hello cleveland"

Spinal Tap is a "band" made up of three Hollywood actors who are pretty decent musicians. Tap starred in a "mock-u-mentary" about the fading popularity of once famous bands in a movie called "This Is Spinal Tap." Random Alias

   you actually have the rare cover? Mine’s just the totally black one, the one that Metallica ripped off for their own album a few years back.    let’s not forget the great compilation album that was put together after the release of the movie, also done in the black cover. Or their triumphant comeback album, "Break Like The Wind" (with cameo appearances by Slash, Jeff Beck and Joe Satriani). Or their appearance at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in Wembley Stadium, where they cut their set down from two hours to one song "because Freddie would’ve wanted it that way". Or their classic cameo appearance on the Simpsons. Or the scandal SPY Magazine uncovered about them faking their ex-manager’s death…..    BTW, there are rumours that Nigel has seen Jamie Lee Curtis naked :)
