hi. I’m wondering how you act — if while you’re performing, you experience the feelings and thoughts of the character, and also observe, as an actor. It’s a kind of ‘trance’ state. Many people can do that–whether it’s during acting or just their regular lives. The ability to see yourself doing something–a so called attachment-detachment is a wonderful experience.

It is a trance state. Sometimes I don’t remember what happened while I was onstage (that’s extreme and rare). I experience this frequently when I act, and know a few people who understand what I’m talking about because it’s happened to them. But most people have no clue what I’m talking about. I would love any comments/thoughts whatever on this. –Alex Linsker
