You are absolutely correct. I called a kennel a couple of weeks ago because I heard it took in rescue dogs, and I was looking for a small dog as a friend for my elderly female dog. To my surprize, the owner of the kennel recommended that if the adoption didn’t work out, I should beat both dogs with a THICK rolled up newspaper to teach them who is boss. I was aghast. I guess this sort of thing is pretty common if people aren’t even ashamed of this sort of advice.
It is awful. It was a small dog so the kennel should have recommended using a small newspaper (like a weekly).
