Lawyer Follies of 1999 – Continued (3)
Question:
a B movie actor with dementia, an all in wrestler, even a half decent football player co-opted to be a party token smell sweeter to my nose.
And, no doubt, your nose is quite familiar with those and other repugnant odors, enabling you to judge accurately. Tony Pucillo Castigat ridendo mores. <Laughter succeeds where lecturing won’t. I speak only for myself unless otherwise stated. One personality is enough, thank you.
Response:
OH, I’m a bad boy but I just can’t resist
By comparison, a B movie actor with dementia, … that was a Union activist with the Screen Actor’s Guild… Tom "throwing the anthracite on the fire" Cooper
You really ain’t the bad boy of your mind’s eye. You speak too much truth for that, although you certainly enjoy a twist or two of it along life’s way. <g In the ‘I NEED HELP’ thread, I’ve been bashing CORPORATE AMERICA and quibbling with the misguided supporters plus waving the UNION flag as the only practical defense against these curmudgeons. Although you meant no harm, your blurb above might do little to advance my cause. OTOH, Mr Reagan’s defection from his life long roots as a Democratic activist and his about face in joining the ranks of Evil Empire #2, certainly gives one pause about what might have been the true nature of this beast in the first place. To paraphrase_ IF IT LOOKS LIKE A DUCK; If it… walks like a lawyer, talks like a lawyer and acts like a lawyer – Is it really nothing more than a second rate movie actor? Bob U.

Brian Whatcott says… – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Hmmm… Do you include Bill and Hillary in that? Bobby and Jack Kennedy? (I loved Bobcat Goldthwait’s comment last night – "Right now, Bobby and Jack Kennedy are in hell looking at Clinton and saying ‘Damn! We didn’t have to kill Marylin after all!’") Rudy Giuliani? I mean, he used the same tactics as Star when he went after John Gotti. How about all those Democratic Senators that voted against conviction - and just happen to be lawyers? I surely appreciate fact-based comments like this one. Reading the clipping, I saw the para that reminded me of the reason I now classify Starr (and by association, all american lawyers) as gutter-trash:

I surely appreciate fact-based comments like this one. Reading the clipping, I saw the para that reminded me of the reason I now classify Starr (and by association, all american lawyers) as gutter-trash: (quote on) Wright quashed a subpoena that Starr issued to the White House in one matter, for example, but agreed to his request that Susan McDougal, the Clintons’ partner in the real-estate venture, be jailed for refusing to testify before a grand jury. (quote off) Starr could not force a hostile witness to speak against Clinton, though she was jailed for ?18 months…. Our pet solicitors have looked into this action and their clarke has pointed out an obvious stumbling block: He said " …dumbER…" and not any speciic amount dumber so there has been no cause to claim defamation. Even so, it is a well recognized effect that a group as a whole, as in’ a sack of’, displays a lower aggregate IQ than the individual members do. now if he’d said …’as dumb AS’….. — Posted via Talkway – http://www.talkway.com Surf Usenet at home, on the road, and by email — always at Talkway.

She probably learned it from her law school professor. What was his name again?
I can’t help myself: I have to ask, do tell, what was his name? :-) Let’s see, University of Arkansas, she was a student in the early 70’s, small little law school, everyone knew everyone else, what was that profs’ name, he left to run for Arkansas Atty General, what was his name… Oh, yes, now I remember. William Jefferson Clinton.

In all the years I’ve been reading your bull shit, I’ve never learned a thing from you about airplanes. Do you even know how to fly? I can’t find you on any data bases. All you do is take shots at people here and there. You talk political cramp and you poison RAH. You are a wimp. If I were a kid in high school with no assets, I’d love nothing better than to kick your sorry little ass. BWB I can’t help myself: I have to ask, do tell, what was his name? :-) Brian Whatcott Altus OK
Bill you are a regular wizard of the written word. You have exactly put into words my very thoughts. I applaud you. Brian Whatnot is indeed dumber than a bag of hammers.

… an Arkansas Circuit Judge is considering the possibility of trying to exact a penalty on the Head of the Executive Branch for "bringing the Legal System into Disrepute" I give her great credit: she didn’t mention the Constitution ONCE! This, after a whisper in her ear, from one of the intransigent former Congressional Managers, apparently. (She expressed her willingness to appear as an Impeachment Prosecution witness, I hear….) So much for judicial integrity? She probably learned it from her law school professor. What was his name

Stop-Press: Notwithstanding a judicial investigation into Independendent Counsel Starr’s little judicial fibber while getting Department of Justice permission for one of his interminable follow-on investigations, an Arkansas Circuit Judge is considering the possibility of trying to exact a penalty on the Head of the Executive Branch for "bringing the Legal System into Disrepute" I give her great credit: she didn’t mention the Constitution ONCE! This, after a whisper in her ear, from one of the intransigent former Congressional Managers, apparently. (She expressed her willingness to appear as an Impeachment Prosecution witness, I hear….) So much for judicial integrity? Meanwhile the melee consequent on throwing 850 grand into a court with a half dozen lawyers duking it out for a share of the booty beats Monday Night mud-wrestling, by all accounts. I predict there will be at least five cents in the dollar remaining for the poor injured? plaintiff, whose case was originally dismissed. Brian Whatcott Altus OK

CNN says: "U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright in Little Rock, Arkansas, had given both sides the opportunity to ask for her recusal because of her contact with House impeachment manager Rep. Asa Hutchinson during Clinton’s Senate trial. "Hutchinson asked Wright to give testimony in the impeachment case. She declined, but her law clerk provided an affidavit.
