Chip, Yes I am a BIG DUNE fan, in fact the art on my page is taken from my D U N E page! if you take off the /paxil/ part off my url it’ll take you there! The film is fantastic, but the book is better! Im one of the frew Dune fans who actually like the film! LoK, I enjoyed your artwork on Dune. Are you a Dune fan? I never read the books, but I saw the movie about 10 times. I really liked it. There was one line in the move I really liked: "The smell. Orlok: I liked the Dune movie, too. I thought Sting was great in it (your profile in the website photo reminds me a bit of Sting, BTW!), and Kyle Maclachlan made a terrific film acting debut. I had read all the Dune books during the year before the movie was released. For weeks in advance, I was so excited, I couldn’t wait for the film to open. I actually took a vacation day off from work and went to the first showing (11 a.m.) at the nearest theater! (I was surrounded mostly by senior citizens – retired folks – who seemed bemused by the movie, and a class full of local 7th graders, who kept chattering throughout.) I wonder why they have never made a sequel to the first movie… I recall liking the 2nd Dune book very much. The books seemed to go downhill after that, though – at least, IMHO. Best, Anne —

Im one of the frew Dune fans : who actually like the film! I was a bit disappointed when I first saw the film, but it ended up growing on me and I really love it now. The Toto and Eno music made a great soundtrack, and I enjoyed the H. R. Geiger influence from the film’s turbulent production. In general, a lot of talent and creativity went into that film. Hello Lok, yup Dune’s one of the best books i’ve ever read, what i can’t work out is why the follow ups are such a pile of cows spittle. It’s like Frank Herbert had a contract with the devil to be able to write one masterpiece then completely lose the plot.                 I think the film’s sort of OK if you’ve read the book first but it must be pretty confusing if you aint.                         Regards,                             Ken.
