A short film, Harvey Weinstein, and me…..

Question:

The Weinstein brothers were concert promoters in Buffalo, New York, I believe in the 70’s. Maybe the news stations would have footage of Harvey that could be of use.

Charlie Rose interviews a lot of industry people. I don’t know that he’s interviewed Harvey Weinstein, but I’d check if I were you. good luck Mark

Otto: If you can’t locate "Burn Hollywood Burn" or a Charlie Rose segment, I believe the brothers Weinstein were raised in Queens, which might let you take a stab at a dialect if you can’t come by it another way.

David — He’s not done any cameos…I checked.  And it’s also the reason he wouldn’t appear in this film.  His policy is that he doesn’t do them. I’ve considered contacting his office at Miramax…and will talk to the producers of the film about that.  What I REALLY don’t want to have happen is for him to see the film and say "That bastard isn’t doing a film at Miramax for the rest of eternity…"  :-) Thanks for your well wishes…..I’ll let you all know how it turns out. Here’s my problem.  I need to find videotape of Mr. Weinstein so I can study his voice and physical characteristics.  Any ideas of how or where I could find this?

   Greetings Otto- Nice introduction. I would check out the local LA TV stations. KTLA has a high                     —    entertainment profile for instance. I recall there was an interview with Mr. Weinstein following Miramax’     success at this years Oscars. Might contact Miramax- as long as this isn’t a hatchet piece (haha) they     may take an interest in how Mr. Weinstein is portrayed- but then again they may take too much interest.     Hope this helps. Thats quite a quandry youre in Otto. You got saddled with a pretty difficult subject. It’s not like having to play a celebrity whose constantly in the public eye. I haven’t even seen Weinstein in that many televised interviews. But what little I do remember is that he doesn’t really have an unusual or extraordinary public persona. No unique mannerisms or speech patterns.  He’s just a regular sort of guy. I think you might be able to just wing it with this one. If youre off, only about 5 people in America will notice. Steve

I had a meeting last week on a short film and have been cast as Miramax president Harvey Weinstein (Harvey was asked and although he loved the script, he does not do appearances).  Here’s my problem.  I need to find videotape of Mr. Weinstein so I can study his voice and physical characteristics.  Any ideas of how or where I could find this?
