How does this sound?

Question:

My great-uncle who was an actor, a writer and a producer suggested that I try to be a gopher at a nearby theater.  He told me that it would help me learn alot. Here was the ad exactly as it appeared in a "Volunteer" magazine I picked up.  I am 13, male, and am trying to start in acting.  I’ve only been in one performance, however I’ve only auditioned for one performance, and I had the lead in that performance although I think I really stunk.  Anyway here’s the ad: — Damascus Theatre Company 27133 Ridge Road Damascus, MD 20872 CONTACT: Peggy May PHONE: 301-253-4051 JOB TITLE: Teen Memeber MIN. AGE: 12 (I’m 13) HOURS: Year round.  Times vary with projects. JOB DESCRIPTION: Teens work with adults to provide live theatrical productions suitable for ages.  Duties may include performing, designing and constructing sets, making costumes, helping with hair and make-up, stage management, and technical theatre, being musicians, assisting with house management, assisting with vocal direction, assisting with choregraphy, or helping the director or producer. — Tell me if you think that sounds helpful for someone of my age and someone who has as little experience as me.

First of all, drop the negativity.  Even if your being sacastic they’ll think your serious.  I’m sure you were perfectly fine in the role.  You just have the awareness that there’s a whole lot else out there to learn. If I were you, I would talk about my enthusaism to do all the things they are looking for.  Wanting hands on experience and the benifit of viewing productions from beginning, middle, and end.
