MS? Flu?

Question:

For the last week or two if I sit up for any length of time — at my computer or in a movie theatre, for example — my neck begins to ache.  It even aches when I read in bed.  I stayed home from work today because the symptoms I know I can attribute to ms (spaciness, lack of coordination, extreme fatigue, etc.) are acting up. Could the achiness in my neck be part of them? A lot of people in my office have been felled by the flu, but I haven’t gotten it this year (touch wood), although I’ve never had a flu shot.  Is it possible to have flu-like symptoms (like aching neck muscles, some sneezing and congestion) without getting it, because you are actually fighting it off?  Thanks. Susan

Hi Susan! You wrote:

If your symptoms are acting up, maybe this is a new one turning up. I hope you are not catching the flu!  Stay well! Sylvia

Sylvia, I saw your post about neck pain.  I have extreme pain in my neck a lot of the time.  Dr. thinks it is because of fatigue and it causes us to lean our head to the side to relieve some of the pain we are having.  I usually end up with a lot of pain in my shoulder also caused from leaning my head to one side.  She had me start wearing a neck brace when I’m having the pain and it really has helped. If you’re like me, I’ll try about anything to relieve the pain. I’m new to the board and just kinda’ feeling my way around so hope this gets to you. Martha cgimar…@aol.com
